An Enlightening Union Wide Women Convention, 2023 A three-day Union Wide Women Convention was organized by the Women’s Ministry of Bangladesh Adventist Union Mission (BAUM) with focus on “Glowing and Flourishing with Jesus”. It was held in the heart of the capital city of Dhaka SDA Church from March 23-25, 2023. About 150 representative women from each mission and a representative group from BASC, BANC, Dhaka Church and the national Council of Churches in Bangladesh (NCCB) were present to be a witness of this convention where they were committed to “choose well, think well and live well”! The grand welcome ceremony were given for the delegates from both home and aboard with a welcome song and garland. Mrs. Mahuya Roy, BAUM Women’s Ministries Director greeted all the delegates and special welcome was presented to Mrs. Virginia, SSD Women’s Ministries Director, a keynote speaker of this convention. The convention were consist of numerous program such as mission wide song service, special songs, witnessing for the Lord, though-provoking presentations, spiritual skit presentation and fun games. Mrs. Virginia Baloyo, SSD Women’s Ministries Director said, “It’s a first time in my life experiencing the fish catching game”. Mrs. Virginia Baloyo, SSD Women’s Ministries Director state that, “Women of Bangladesh are courageous and flourishing like flowers with its sweet fragrance”. She urged them to be resilience women in the midst of difficulties. On Sabbath Day, she focused on the book of Joshua 2, highlighting six keys for victory. She pointed the six keys to be victorious in evangelism. The six keys were intercession, consecration, strategy, perspiration, unity and God’s intervention. She challenged all to lead the life of devotion and prayer. Mrs. Mahuya Roy, BAUM Women’s Ministries Director shared some inspirational stories which were rich in practical lesson and moral values that connected women with the key understanding of “choosing well, thinking well and living well”! She urged them to treat people with love and kindness. On Friday night, a beautiful skit was presented based on the Fruits of the Spirit which were enlightening and thought-provoking to the audience. The theme of this convention was added with more beautiful thoughts by Pr. Won Sang Kim, BAUM President said, “Let’s all glow, flourish and fly with Jesus. As you all clothed yourself with colorful dress, let your life be more shining and colorful with the content of your characters and works”. Pr. Timothy Roy, BAUM Executive Secretary said, “Women are our strength of every movement, and inspiration for ministry. Life is nothing without them, but life is beautiful and glowing and flourishing like flowers when they are with us”. It was ended with the challenging song that called 21th century women to be more courageous for advocating their rights.
