The Integrated Summer School for SDA Teachers officially began on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the Seventh-Day Adventist Maranatha Seminary of WBM, drawing teachers from the West Bangladesh Mission territory for three days of intensive training, fellowship, and spiritual enrichment.
Guided by the theme “Empowering Teachers for Quality, Inclusive, and Student-Centered Education”, the program emphasizes both professional development and spiritual growth. The chosen verse, James 1:5 — “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all” — inspired participants to seek divine guidance in their teaching mission.
Day One: Opening Worship and Fellowship
The first day featured registration, dinner, and an evening worship session. Pr. Matthew Adhikary, President of WBM, delivered the opening message, encouraging teachers to embrace their calling with faith and dedication. Prayers were offered by Mr. Nicholas Marandi, Executive Secretary of WBM, and Mr. Sujon Samgma, Principal of SAMS, setting a reverent tone for the program.
Day Two: Devotion and Practical Sessions
Thursday, June 4, began with a morning devotion led by John Roy, Education Director of BAUM, who highlighted the importance of inclusive and student-centered strategies. The day’s sessions were conducted by Sabbir Ahmed Nobel and John Roy, focusing on practical teaching methods and professional growth.
Day Three: Closing Reflections
On Friday, June 5, the devotional message was delivered by Dr. Thomas H. Baroi, Principal of DAPS, with prayers offered by principals from JAMS and Bangla Hope. Sessions continued under the leadership of Nobel and Dr. Baroi, before concluding with a closing session led by John Roy, who urged teachers to remain steadfast in their mission to inspire and empower students.
Fellowship and Inspiration
Beyond the structured program, participants engaged in fellowship and networking, strengthening bonds among SDA teachers and educators. Organizers emphasized that the summer school is not only about professional development but also about spiritual renewal and collective growth.
The event concluded with a call to action: “Let us seek God’s wisdom and grow together as empowered teachers!”
Tagline: “Come, learn, be inspired, and be empowered!”
